Meet Molly

A lifelong connection to Wayzata

My connection to this community began long before I served on the City Council.

When I walk down Lake Street, I still remember what it felt like to be a teenager here—exploring downtown with friends, seeing familiar faces, and heading to McDonald’s after a Friday-night football game. Those everyday moments are a big part of why this community means so much to me.

I have lived in our community my entire life. Since I was old enough to have a job I worked in Wayzata. I was one of the teens behind the counter at Rexall Drug, I sold skis at Sports Hut in college and after graduation I worked for Graham Jewelers. In 2016 I opened my own retail store on Lake Street. It’s been a joy to serve and give back to a community that has been so good to me. The downtown I explored growing up became the place where I built my livelihood and even deeper connections with this community.

I’m proud of how Wayzata has grown. I also know that what makes a place special can be easy to overlook as it changes: a familiar storefront, a quiet neighborhood street, a favorite gathering spot, or simply the feeling that you belong.

That’s the perspective I bring to the City Council. As we consider new development and plan for the future, I want us to remember the people and places that made us love Wayzata in the first place. Growth should strengthen that connection and give the next generation memories of their own.

Serving since 2021, I’ve had the opportunity to help shape the community I care so much about. I’m seeking re-election to continue that work—with an appreciation for our history and a thoughtful approach to what comes next.

Vision for Wayzata

A thriving city. A place to call home.

Our city’s success should benefit the people who live here.

My priority is to find new revenue that reduces pressure on property taxes while funding the parks, public safety, streets, and sidewalks we depend on. We can build on Wayzata’s popularity while protecting the qualities that make our neighborhoods special.

Diversify Revenue

I want to pursue new enterprise funds, explore a food and beverage sales tax, and develop resident-focused events that can bring in revenue. The goal is for our growing popularity to help pay for city services, easing the burden on residents.

I’ll also continue looking for grants and opportunities to share services with neighboring communities while maintaining the service residents expect.

Support Public Safety

Reliable police and fire services are essential to a strong community. I support giving our public safety teams the staffing and resources they need, while addressing concerns about safety on our streets and in our neighborhoods.

That includes paying attention to emerging issues, such as e-bike safety, and listening to the experiences residents bring forward.

Sustain Community Character

I want thoughtful development that respects established neighborhoods, safe connections for people walking around town, and continued investment in parks and public spaces.

A vibrant downtown matters, and so does the quality of life on every residential street. Both deserve a voice in the decisions we make.

Experience put to work

Good local government shows up in everyday life.

Since joining the council in 2021, I’ve worked on the decisions that shape our neighborhoods, services, and shared spaces. I know our budget, boards, and city processes, and I bring that experience to each new challenge.

These are some of the initiatives I’ve led or supported alongside my council colleagues.

Protecting Neighborhood Character

I initiated new zoning standards in the R3A district to increase front-yard setbacks and help preserve the character of established neighborhoods.

Connecting Our Community

I supported the addition of four city blocks of sidewalks, helped move Panoway forward, and supported the addition of pickleball courts at Bell Park.

Investing in Public Safety

I supported additional police staffing, the hiring of a full-time Fire Chief, and efforts to address e-bike safety.
